Our CBA Learning Module Series is the premier BCBA/BCaBA curriculum supplement and exam prep tool. This is the program your professors and colleagues told you about--the one that approximately half of the people preparing for the BCBA/BCaBA exam use and for which there is a money-back guarantee. Many of our customers tell us that it is the only study tool you need. However, we know that the Cooper, Heron, & Heward (2020) text is essential material and the other resources below can also be very helpful, depending on your strengths and weaknesses. In particular, many people have found the Mayer, Sulzer-Azaroff, Wallace book, Behavior Analysis for Lasting Change 4th edition (2019) for the 5th Edition Task List & Behavior Analysis for Lasting Change 3rd edition (2014) for the 4th Edition Task List, to be up to date and easy to understand. We conducted a survey of first-time BCBA exam takers who completed the CBA Learning Module Series and sat for the exam in 2019. The pass rate was 98.5%. All surveys we've conducted follow a similar methodology and have yielded a pass rate between 91% and 97% (i.e., 96%, 97%, 91%, and 97% in 2013, 2015, 2017/2018, and 2019, respectively).
The criterion for inclusion was completion of all the learning modules in the course to 100% correct; 68 individuals met this criterion. Using a combination of Momentive (formerly known as Survey Monkey) email surveys, phone calls, and mailed letters, 155 reported taking the BCBA exam for the first time in 2019; however, 87 of them did not complete the CBA LMS to 100% correct. Verification of reported exam passage was achieved for 97% of qualifying participants via the BACB's BCBA Certificant registry.
This study was conducted by Chris Perrin, Ph.D., BCBA-D.
The BACB 5th edition task list is now in effect and ALL applicants will be tested based on the 5th. Although your coursework may be approved under the 4th edition task list, you will be tested on the 5th.
