Many behavior analysts have "struggled" and continue to struggle to provide services to intellectually disabled adults who are in dire need of supports from qualified and motivated clinicians and behavior analysts.  The "purity" of behavior analysis, as we have all been exposed to during our coursework, can be extremely "compromised" due to funding considerations, staffing limitations, a general lack of training, and the need/expectation to evaluate and analyze critical behavioral data which is oftentimes absent or of questionable accuracy.  In spite of all of these obstacles there is hope!, and you will leave this webinar with a renewed sense of optimism and passion for the work that we all do in assisting persons with intellectual disabilities achieve the quality of life and standard of living to which they are rightfully entitled.

This webinar is presented by Kevin J. Fitzgerald, M.A., LABA, President, www.PremierBehavioralSolutions.com

Objectives:

Objective A: Attendees will have a better understanding and appreciation for the various "obstacles" that they will encounter as it relates to developing and implementing behavior support plans for intellectually disabled adults who reside in community-based residences.

Objective B: Attendees will learn how to conduct more relevant functional behavior assessments for intellectually disabled adults residing in community settings, thereby increasing the accuracy of identified behavioral functional hypotheses.

Objective C: Attendees will learn how to develop creative behavior support plans that are more succinct and simple, thereby significantly increasing the probability that BSP's can/will be clearly understood and implemented by direct support personnel and yield positive results.

Objective D: Attendees will learn the critical interplay between psychotropic medications and behavioral expressions, and how the two can and do work together, synergistically.

Objective E: Attendees will learn new strategies for developing user-friendly and person-centered data collection systems, increasing the likelihood that data will be documented in a timely manner, and therefore result in heightened accuracy and reliability of the data.
